Steve Strickland Joins Rochester Sports Foundation Advisory Committee

ROCHESTER, MN — The Rochester Sports Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Steve Strickland to its Advisory Committee. A familiar face in the local athletic community, Strickland’s move to the committee represents a career-long dedication to enhancing the quality of youth and prep sports in the region.

Currently a sales representative for Game-One, Strickland’s professional journey is marked by versatility and leadership. Before transitioning into his current role, he served as the Activities Director for Rochester Catholic Schools, where he oversaw the complex logistics of modern high school athletics. This followed a successful, long-term tenure in the paper industry, providing him with a unique blend of corporate management and educational administration experience.

Strickland’s deep connection to Rochester began in 1997 when he and his family relocated to the city. Since then, he has left an indelible mark on local sports, most notably coaching track at Lourdes High School for 15 years. His coaching resume also extends to youth baseball, basketball, and football, giving him a comprehensive perspective on the needs of athletes at every developmental level.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a BA in History, Strickland brings more than 38 years of combined experience in education, sales, and coaching to the Foundation. His primary focus on the Advisory Committee will be advocating for the development of better local sports facilities, ensuring that the next generation of Rochester athletes has the resources necessary to succeed.

While his professional achievements are numerous, Strickland remains grounded by his core values, noting that his biggest passion continues to be his family. The Rochester Sports Foundation welcomes his expertise and his unwavering commitment to the local sporting community.
