RSF Sports Complex July Update

RSRC Complex Management Agreement Finalized

An agreement for the soon to be constructed Rochester Sports and Recreation Complex (RSRC) has been signed between the Oak View Group (OVG) and the City of Rochester and will be in affect starting July 15th, 2024, according to our sources. In addition to operating the future complex, OVG will assist the City in the planning and construction aspect of the facility.

OVG describes themselves as being led by their diverse and deeply experienced leadership team. They are committed to elevating expectations in venues across the world. This includes unique premium events, gracious hospitality, imaginative menus, and holistic venue management solutions gleaned from their extensive background and honed through their experience developing and managing an elite roster of arenas, stadiums, theaters, convention centers, and more in communities worldwide.

OVG has brought Sports Academy Group (SAG) to the table as a partner that will assist them with the next phase of the final of the market study to determine a future financial model. SAG will work with the City of Rochester staff as well as the Rochester Sports Foundation to gather relevant data to determine the major needs of the sports and recreation groups within the area. In addition, they will work with the members of Rochester Sports to prioritize the greatest areas of potential economic impact opportunities. The complex plans to have a balance of local usage as well as state, regional and national event hosting – which will bring new economic dollars into the region.

The exact schedule for the above has yet to be determined. However, if you are a member of a local sports group and wish to share your input – please feel free to get in touch with Ed Hruska of the Sports Foundation at ehruska@rochsports.com.
